Illustration & Poster Series — 2020
Tarot Game
Drawing, composition and series.
Personal project.
The Project
Seven cards,
one ink.
A series of illustrations built as a tarot deck: seven cards, each carrying a name in caps flanked by dashes, drawn in white line on black.
The graphic vocabulary borrows from symbolist engraving — sacred geometry, anatomy, animals, moon phases — but is held by a single production rule: no grey fills, no screens. Every shape is either white or absent.
My Role
The names are invented for the series: Le Cœur, Le Solitaire, La Justice, Le Duel, L’Astre Noir, Le Savoir, La Folie. They don’t follow the traditional arcana — they borrow its syntax.

Series Consistency
Building the Identity
Two values, no shades.
The whole series holds on one black and one white — the only variation allowed is line weight.

Palette sampled from the project’s own visuals.
The Decision
A two-colour constraint forces you to settle everything through drawing.
The Work
In detail.
As a poster
La Folie framed and hung: outside the deck, each card works as a poster in its own right — which was the condition set for the format.

Plates
The seven cards

In short
A deck that isn’t played,
but hung.
The series was made for the wall as much as for the card: the name at the foot of each composition does the work of a plate caption.
